Priyanka was born on 18 Born in July 1982, in the Chopra family consisting of father, Dr. Ashok, and mother Dr. Madhu (nee Akhauri), and a younger brother. Her father is a Punjabi-speaking, while her mother is from Bihar. When she was a child, she suffered from asthma and was very close to her father. Her family affectionately called Mimi.

Although she born in Jamshedpur,Jharkhand,she spent her childhood in Rae Barreilly in Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow, where she attended in La Martiniere Girls school. These frequent re-locations were due to Ashok was a doctor in the Indian Army. Then she back to the USA, where she studied at Newton North Newton High School and then John F. Kennedy High School Cedar Rapids in Massachusetts and Iowa, respectively.

In 2000 she returned to India and enrolled in Jai Hind College and Basant Singh Institute of Science in Churchgate, Mumbai, but had to leave abruptly as she was crowned Miss India. later she became Miss World in the same year - a year, were found up to a year for Indian Beauty Queens - The Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza crowned Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific respectively. She made her debut in Bollywood with "The Hero" in 2002 and then act in more than 28 films and lent hier voice as a playback singer in "Barsaat (2005). She has 11 awards to date for her performance in 'Andaaz', 'Aitraaz', ' The hero', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and “Krrish”.
