Saloni Aswani is a south Indian actress born on 1st June 1979 in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra in a Sindhi speaking family as Vandana. Her father was an customs officer. The family moved to CGS quarters in Wadala, Mumbai, when she was 5 years old. It is here she is interested in acting. After completed school she attended the Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey women’s University (SNDT) near the New Marine Lines / Church Gate, Mumbai, and after graduating in psychology, she took acting classes in Ashok Kumar's Acting Academy, run by his daughter Preeti Ganguly. During her academic career she ever played dramas , mainly involved in imitating Sridevi. She also participated in a theater group "Kala Sansad '. Her Initial appearances were in ads for Vaseline, lifebuoy , Parachute Oil, Moove, Chic shampoo, Three roses tea, Meera soaps, etc.
